After Action Report
Operation: Dice & Diversions
Vessel/Unit: USS Terminus, NCC-42063 (Shore Detail)
Location: Regional Recreational Symposium, Terran Sector (Local Board-Game Convention)
Stardate: -296860.3 (February 20, 2026)
Reporting Officer: Lt. JG David Whitehead
Starfleet personnel Lt. JG Whitehead and Ensign Topher Kohan were dispatched to engage in diplomatic cultural exchange with civilian gaming collectives, evaluate newly developed strategic simulations, and strengthen morale and camaraderie within the quadrant's hobbyist communities.
All primary objectives were successfully completed.
The two officers of the Terminus crew established planetary presence and integrated seamlessly among the local population. Numerous tactical simulations were executed. Notable holodeck-analog engagements included:
FLIP 7
A probability-based risk engagement simulator requiring decisive judgment under uncertainty.
HORRIFIED
A cooperative crisis containment scenario featuring multi-threat mitigation protocols.
CAMEL CUP
A chaotic predictive wagering exercise testing adaptability to improbable variables.
All simulations demonstrated high crew competency in rapid decision-making, morale maintenance, and strategic cooperation.
The assigned planetary lodging facility was structurally sound and comfortable. However, replicator-adjacent beverage acquisition systems were... unusually restrictive. Despite these supply chain irregularities, the crew maintained operational readiness and morale without incident.
For the first time, the convention deployed a network-accessible game library database. This technological advancement greatly improved artifact retrieval efficiency and enabled discovery of both ancient relics and newly released simulation matrices. Starfleet recommends continued monitoring of this promising civilian system.
Convention staff displayed exemplary hospitality protocols and responsiveness. Their conduct aligns with Federation standards for first-contact friendliness and cooperative engagement. They are to be considered allies of the Terminus in all future recreational diplomacy initiatives.
During departure operations on the final planetary rotation, the reporting officer's personal shuttlecraft experienced a catastrophic loss of primary deceleration systems. Faced with compromised stopping capability, the officer executed a controlled withdrawal maneuver utilizing anticipation, calculated braking intervals, and unwavering composure. Through courage, determination, and a refusal to yield to mechanical adversity, the craft was safely navigated away from populated areas and returned to spacedock for future repair.
Early extraction from the mission site was required. No casualties. No structural damage beyond the shuttlecraft's injured pride.
