After Action Report

Operation: Maximum Warp, Minimum Sleep

Vessel/Unit: USS Terminus, NCC 81011 (Full Crew Deployment)
Location: Dragon Con, Atlanta, Georgia, Terran Sector (multiple hotel annexes)
Stardate: 2609.03-2609.07
Mission Classification: Fleet-Wide Convention Deployment
Reporting Officer: Lt. David Whitehead, Chief Engineer

I. Mission Objectives

The Terminus crew deployed in force to Dragon Con, the largest multi-fandom gathering in the sector, with the following primary objectives:

  • Staff and support programming across the Star Trek Track
  • Represent the ship in panels, staged performances, and puppetry operations
  • Maintain fleet cohesion through coordinated meetups with crew of allied vessels
  • Sustain morale, camaraderie, and, where possible, functioning livers

All primary objectives were completed successfully, several of them repeatedly and at increasing volume as the weekend progressed. See Section III for full operational summary.

II. Crew Manifest

The following Terminus personnel are confirmed to have participated in Dragon Con programming and operations. Given the scale of the convention, this list should be considered a floor, not a ceiling.

Lt. Commander January Sterling Cast member, She Kills Monsters staged reading

Lieutenant Elizabeth Corbet Present and accounted for
Vice Admiral Joe Campbell Panelist, multiple sessions; designer, Star Trek Track room signage

Additional crew and friends of the ship circulated through the convention across all four days, including personnel from the USS Athena and other Starfleet vessels operating in the region. A full accounting of every crew member present at every hour of the weekend exceeds the scope of this report and, frankly, the memory of this reporting officer.

III. Operational Summary

Star Trek Track Operations

Lt. Whitehead volunteered extensively in support of the convention's Star Trek Track, assisting with track operations across the weekend. VADM Campbell contributed further to track operations by producing what this reporting officer can only describe as an outstanding set of hand-crafted signage for the Star Trek Track room, in addition to serving as panelist across multiple sessions. Track leadership expressed satisfaction with both the signage and the panel content, in roughly that order.

Promotion in the Field: Lt. Whitehead

Amid the general chaos of the weekend, Lt. JG David Whitehead received his official promotion to full Lieutenant while on-site at Dragon Con. This reporting officer notes, with as much objectivity as a self-reporting promotion allows, that the timing could not have been better: a rank change and a convention badge reprint accomplished in the same trip. All record-keeping in this report reflects the new rank effective immediately.

Musical Operations: Geek Sing-A-Long

Lt. Lewis provided vocal performance at the annual geek sing-a-long, described by witnesses as sung with considerable heart and at considerable volume. No structural damage to the venue was reported.

Theatrical Operations: She Kills Monsters

Lt. Cmdr. Sterling and Lt. Lewis participated in a staged reading of She Kills Monsters. Both officers are commended for stepping outside standard duty stations to pursue dramatic arts, and for doing so without any reported casualties to cast, crew, or puppets belonging to a different production entirely (see below).

Puppetry Operations: National Puppetry Slam and Felt Nerdy

Recruits Kelso and Dashiell participated in the National Puppetry Slam, as well as multiple Felt Nerdy puppet performances across the weekend. This reporting officer wishes to note, for the record and in the strongest possible terms, that this is a big deal. Puppetry operations of this scale and visibility reflect substantial credit on the performers.

Panel Participation: Welcome to Wrexham

Ensign Sweatman served as a panelist on the Welcome to Wrexham panel, extending Terminus representation into programming well outside the usual Star Trek orbit. Diplomatic outreach of this kind is considered good practice for maintaining relevance across the wider fandom sector.

Klingon Karaoke

Crew participation in Klingon karaoke is confirmed. Song selections, vocal quality, and translation accuracy are not part of this report and will not be entered into the permanent record.

IV. Fleet Relations

The weekend opened with a brief crew meetup at the Hilton bar, establishing a forward operating position from which further fellowship could be conducted. Over the following days, crew engaged in a series of impromptu meetups with fellow Terminus personnel and with crew from other Starfleet vessels, most notably the USS Athena. Several of these gatherings extended well into the late watch, producing what this reporting officer will characterize only as very late night discussions of considerable depth and questionable recall.

A diplomatic highlight of the Hilton bar meetup deserves separate mention: Lt. Whitehead successfully purchased a drink for actress Tawny Newsome, of Star Trek: Lower Decks and Space Force. This encounter is logged as a significant morale event and, this reporting officer will note without embarrassment, the unquestioned high point of his personal away mission.

Relations with the USS Athena and other visiting crews remain excellent. Continued cross-vessel fellowship at future conventions is strongly recommended.

V. Environmental Conditions

Dragon Con presented the usual operational challenges of a large multi-hotel convention environment: dense crowds, long turbolift (elevator) wait times, and a convention floor plan that appeared to shift unpredictably between hotel annexes. Crew adapted well and reported no significant navigational casualties, though several personnel admitted to walking the wrong direction at least once per day with full confidence.

VI. Unofficial Log

This reporting officer must note, in the interest of completeness, that numerous additional crew adventures occurred over the course of the weekend that did not make it into the official log. These events are believed to be numerous, are rumored to be memorable, and will remain, per longstanding tradition, between those who were present.

All crew returned home safely and mostly intact.

VII. Overall Evaluation

Mission Morale: Exceptional
Crew Cohesion: Substantially Reinforced
Panel and Programming Participation: Confirmed, Multiple Tracks
Puppetry Operations: A Big Deal
Fleet Relations (USS Athena and Others): Excellent
Liver Status: Questionable
Overall Classification: Resounding Success

The operation is classified as a resounding success.

VIII. Future Operations

Dragon Con is, unsurprisingly, recommended for repeat deployment. All eligible Terminus personnel with an interest in panels, staged performances, puppetry, karaoke, or simply standing near a hotel bar in uniform are encouraged to report for duty next year. Further operational details to follow via standard crew communication channels, with adequate lead time for liver recovery.
