Initial Contact & Crew Briefing
Mission Specialist Lela Tal established first contact with school staff in Uganda, confirming a Star Trek Club of approximately 30 students. A ship-wide call was issued inviting crew to submit care package ideas. A formal coordination meeting was held via Zoom on Sunday, February 9th, 2025 at 18:30 EST, welcoming new faces and finalizing the mission plan.
Care Package Assembly
Crew sourced and assembled a diplomatic care package consisting of four item categories, each selected to celebrate Star Trek culture and provide lasting enjoyment for the club members. The completed manifest:
- Ship dedication plaque (U.S.S. Chrysalis, NCC-10963)
- Star Trek books
- Star Trek delta stickers
- Magnetic Star Trek deltas
Package Delivery
The care package was dispatched and, after a lengthy transit period, confirmed received in Uganda. Teacher Mr. Ben and the full club were present at delivery. Photographic documentation confirms receipt of the ship plaque and distribution of materials among club members.
Reception by the local population was exceptional. Club members were photographed holding the dedication plaque, Star Trek books, and other materials with visible enthusiasm. The classroom environment displayed motivational murals including “Reaching Their Potential” and “I Believe I Can Fly” — consistent with Federation values of exploration and self-improvement.
Teacher Mr. Ben conveyed his personal gratitude on behalf of the entire school. His message confirmed that Star Trek is now actively being enjoyed by the club. No adverse reactions were logged. All diplomatic relations assessed as: outstanding.
Diplomatic outreach produced measurable and meaningful results. Approximately thirty (30) young people in Uganda now have direct access to Star Trek materials, a ship dedication plaque bearing the name and registry of the U.S.S. Chrysalis, and the knowledge that a crew across the stars thought of them. The Federation's ideals of inclusion, curiosity, and exploration have been successfully transmitted.
Full commendation is extended to Mission Specialist Lela Tal for conceiving and executing this mission from first contact through confirmed delivery. Equal commendation is extended to all crew members who contributed ideas, materials, and enthusiasm during the coordination phase. This mission stands as a model of what the Chrysalis crew can accomplish when united behind a shared purpose.
Recommend continued investment in international outreach missions of this nature. The success of this operation demonstrates that care packages, cultural materials, and personal connection represent highly effective instruments of Federation diplomacy at any distance.
