THE CREW
Meet the crew of the USS TERMINUS
Lt. Cmdr. Sterling
Lieutenant Commander January Sterling, Commanding Officer
January is based in Sector 001, the Atlanta region. Having grown up in a house of curiosity and asking questions, she found Star Trek young, the Next Generation usually on at random times while the family enjoyed it, which begat the movies which begat a lifelong appreciation for Intrepid class, and other long range exploration starships.
It was on an Intrepid class starship that January met Seven of Nine, who delivered her favorite Trek quote: Fun will now commence. Which it usually does as a new Trek series or movie comes out and January rushes to watch it. Recruited in a Joann's fabric store in 2023 by RADM Campbell, thanks to a chance sartorial decision that caught the Rear Admiral's attention, January joined Terminus along with her wife, Jessica, and has been a proud Starfleet member since.
This was not her first time in Starfleet, however, as thanks to some gaming friends, she has the privilege of playing a Caitian Commander aboard the Pathfinder class ship the USS Rubins (named after the NASA explorer, Kathleen Rubins), which explores the Shackleton Expanse setting in Star Trek Adventures. Regardless of her species, January is thrilled to be a member of the good ship Terminus, and can't wait to see where it boldly goes next.
VADM Campbell
Vice Admiral Joseph Campbell, Former Commanding Officer
Joe Campbell was born in Brooklyn and raised on Staten Island, and he has been a Star Trek fan since childhood. He chose to attend the High School of Art and Design partly because the Federation Trading Post was just down the block, though it unfortunately closed soon after he started there. In the early 1970s, Joe attended the Star Trek conventions in New York and has been a proud member of Starfleet Command since 1987.
After moving to Atlanta, Joe founded a local chapter called Omicron Ceti 3. As the group grew, it evolved into the USS Taurus, later the USS Churchill, and today, the USS Terminus. Between chapters, he took a brief hiatus before launching the Terminus.
In his professional life, Joe is a graphic artist and costumer, as well as a founding staff member of Dragon Con-where he continues to volunteer. His passions include graphic arts, sign making, and branding, and he takes pride in making people feel comfortable. Star Trek has always been an integral part of Joe's life, and its enduring message of compassion and acceptance continues to inspire him. Ask about his spam recipes.
Lt. Lewis
Lieutenant Jessica Lewis, Executive Officer, Behavioral Xenobotany
Jessica has lived in the Atlanta area for more than two decades and first discovered Star Trek watching The Next Generation with her mom-often sneaking out past bedtime to catch each episode. While TNG remains her first love, Strange New Worlds is quickly catching up. She's especially fond of Starfleet Vulcans for their stealthy sense of humor, quoting Tuvok's line: "Do not mistake my composure for ease."
After being recruited by Rear Admiral Campbell in a Joanne's fabric store, Jessica officially joined Starfleet Command in 2023. Renowned for her costuming expertise and her ability to amplify any bit of crew mischief by exactly 17%-all while maintaining "plausible deniability"-she brings equal parts creativity and chaos to the Terminus.

Biography
Rct. Patterson
Recruit Amber Patterson, Operations
Amber grew up with TNG, TOS, and falling asleep to the sounds of the bridge of the animated series. (She definitely had a crush on Kirk to match her sister's crush on Elvis.) Later, she was introduced to the badassery that is Voyager, and now she's pretty much caught up. She's all about loving everyone, making the choices that help the most and/or hurt the least, finding a third path, and embracing infinite diversity in infinite combinations. "Join us! We have fun!"
Rct. Patterson
Recruit Justin Patterson, Operations
A lifelong resident of Georgia, Recruit Justin Patterson was introduced to Star Trek by his father, watching The Next Generation together and borrowing The Original Series tapes from the local library. These early experiences shaped his admiration for the franchise's core ideals: hope, knowledge, service, exploration, diplomacy, and the power of diversity. He believes Star Trek endures because these values resonate deeply across humanity-and he carries that spirit into his service with Starfleet Command.
Known for balancing Federation principles with a lively sense of camaraderie, Patterson welcomes all who share a passion for adventure, connection, and a good time. He looks forward to meeting fellow crew members on future away missions.
Ens. Sweatman
Ensign Elaine Sweatman, Operations
Elaine spent her early years moving as a Navy baby before settling in Gainesville, FL for the rest of her childhood. As an adult, she relocated to Smyrna, GA for a better job and to be closer to her dad, where she's lived for over 22 years.
Though aware of Star Trek growing up, she didn't dive in until Discovery. In 2023, she and Matt devised a plan to get her caught up by watching the series in stardate order, starting with Enterprise. Elaine has since fallen deeply into the Trek universe, loving every series so far and embracing the friendships she's made within the fan community.
LTjg. Wells
Lieutenant Junior Grade Terri Wells, Sentient Species Relations
LTjg. Terri Wells was born and raised in New York and has since lived in New Jersey, North Carolina, and Florida. She first encountered Star Trek through The Original Series, watching with her family and gaining early "engineering" credentials as the household remote control. Her childhood immersion in science fiction led her to greet the Apollo 11 landing not with surprise, but with the confident logic of a four-year-old Trek fan: "Of course we landed on the moon."
Wells has yet to complete every series in the franchise, though The Next Generation and Strange New Worlds have become favorites, with Deep Space Nine and Voyager high on her list for future viewing. She is especially fond of Harcourt Fenton Mudd's assertion that "Knowledge, sir, should be free to all!", tempered by her belief that creators deserve fair compensation. Joining Starfleet Command in early 2025 after being recruited by RADM Joseph Campbell, Wells brings with her a love of fiber arts, cosplay, and her professional skills as an editor. Any additional talents remain classified, and personnel without proper clearance are advised not to inquire.
LTjg. Whitehead
Lieutenant Junior Grade David Whitehead, Chief Engineer
Hailing from Section 001, Atlanta Region, Earth, David was first inspired by The Original Series reruns and propelled by The Next Generation. He brings curiosity, discipline, and creativity to the Terminus. Guided by the belief that "things are only impossible until they are not," he combines imagination with structure to turn ideas into operational reality. A new recruit to Starfleet Command, David already shows the hallmark of an crew member who makes the imagined real.
