Stationed: Atlanta Sector, Terran Region

Assigned to uphold the principles of Starfleet and promote the ideals of exploration, camaraderie, and community engagement within the Atlanta quadrant. The crew of the Defiant-class starship USS Terminus conducts missions of goodwill, science outreach, and fandom fellowship, representing Starfleet Command in regional conventions, charity operations, and educational events. Officers are expected to embody the spirit of the Federation: curiosity, inclusion, and service to all sentient life.

The vessel's designation honors Terminus, the original settlement from which the city of Atlanta arose. Established as the endpoint, or terminus, of the Western & Atlantic railroad line, the outpost was later renamed Marthasville before receiving its final designation: Atlanta. Like the frontier settlement that grew into a thriving hub of commerce and culture, the USS Terminus stands at the meeting point of journeys, a place where the end of one voyage marks the beginning of the next.

The Defiant-class starship is a compact, heavily armed Federation warship designed for tactical missions rather than exploration. Measuring roughly 170 meters long with a crew of about 50, it features four pulse-phaser cannons, quantum and photon torpedo launchers, and ablative hull armor for maximum combat resilience. Powered by a high-output warp core capable of speeds up to Warp 9.98, the class combines exceptional firepower and maneuverability in a small frame. Its design includes regenerative shields, minimal living quarters, and in some cases, a Romulan cloaking device, making it one of Starfleet's most formidable and purpose-built vessels, optimized for defense, escort, and deep-space strike operations.
